Microloop probe has been primarily designed to be used for the vehicle detection where driveways are electrically heated or existing conditions prevent the installation of loop wires as illustrated on page 7.
Microloop probe can be suspended above door/gate, driveway ramp deck, ramp walls or installed in driveways in lieu of loop wires.
Although a single probe in the middle of the driveway lane will detect most vehicles, two or more microloop probes 4 to 5 ft. apart can be connected in series, to increase the zone of detection.
HOW IT WORKS:
The microloop probe is a small, passive, cylindrical transducer 7/8" in diameter x 4" long, which converts changes in magnetic field intensity into inductance changes. It is intended to be used with a conventional inductive loop detector such as the model 515B.
The microloop probe detects a change of inductance in the vertical component of the earth's magnetic field caused by the presence of passage of a large metallic body such as a vehicle.
Microloop probe comes with 100 ft. of cable and can be fitted into 1/4" saw cut. If more than 100 ft. of cables is required to reach the loop detector control unit, length of cable must be specified when ordering since cable cannot be spliced in the field.
